The location can't be beat as the sits directly in front of Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. The Patio views were amazing. The 24 staff was very helpful with carrying bags up steep steps and booking a 2am ride cheap to the airport. The night manager is one the best hotel employees we've come across anywhere. Any short falls were made up by the combination of price and location.
Owner really wants to sell you stuff from his shop next door and felt uncomfortable carrying bags of stuff we bought else where past his shop. Hotel was a little old and could use a facelift. No hairdryer. Breakfast could be better and have some fruit or juice. Office is in basement and front door isn't locked, so although it is very safe it feels shady when you first walk in.
Very good location, nice terrace; especially the night clerk was very helpful with a defunct light bulb and unstable wlan
No buffet breakfast (although outlined on web page during reservation), breakfast was every day the same; wlan is very unstable; touristic advices could have been better
The location is superb near to Aya Sofya and Blue Mosque!!! Room was clean and newly renovated made in typical ottoman design. Breakfast was served in the restorant downstairs and it was really delicious. Also we were pleased to meet the hotel Manager who was available 24 hours per day and ready to answer every question from our side. Only positive emotions.
- Excellent location. Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque are literally across the road. Good transport links also. - Very friendly staff, courteous and helpful. Went out of the way to help. - Room beautifully decorated.
- More of a guest-house than hotel. - No lift, so had to take luggage up two floors. - Because of limited number of rooms (5 rooms in total) we got a twin room instead of a double. - Hotel on a street with lots of restarurants and people trying to persuade you into their restaurant. Not a good experience when going back after a long day out.
Best location , cozyness, great authentic design, super-friendly personnel
glass toilet door looks fabulous if you stay alone in the room ) for couples and friends- it is transparent for everything, including sound
The head of staff is impecable and very sympathetic, always around and willing to help. He speaks turkish, german and english, which was quite helpful. The beds are excellent and the localization is perfect, right by the Sofia Cathedral and the Blue mosque. I vividly recommend this hotel, breakfast is included in the price of the room and it is quite a feast!
Excellent site. But it is necessary to mean that we had number of suites - with terassy and a view of Bazalik's (Yerebatan Sarnici) Tank, Sacred Sofia and the Blue mosque. Other four numbers are located below, without the balconies, two numbers overlooking a yard. Very friendly personnel. If stop for three nights - ask a free transfer in the airport!!!
Prevention: if you have a lot of luggage, be going to lift it on very abrupt and narrow ladder!!!
The kervan hotel perfect location of the i̇stanbul. There are very ni̇ce wi̇ew from the hotel. You can go everywhere by walk only 100 m di̇stance. I hope, I wi̇ll back soon to kervan hotel
all historical place very near by kervan hotel only by walk 5 munite l have to like to much kervan hotel
Location is good.
Another thing is the attitude of the manager. When we settled the bill with him, I pointed out that they gave the rooms to other guests and made two people of our group separate from the main building, he became very angry and shouted at me. I said the way he operated was not correct because you can't take the group as a whole and give rooms to other guests. In the end, he probably felt he was being too aggressive to me and gave us 38 euro discount for the room he put outside of the Kervan Hotel. Still we felt very annoyed by the whole stay due to the very different images posted on Booked.net and the actual facilities we had.
The location is good, in the middle of the old town and you can basically walk to many tourist sites.
1. Booked.net showed that this hotel has total five rooms. We booked four rooms for our stay, however when we first arrived at the hotel, only three rooms available (the rest two were already occupied by other guests), so the manager moved one room to the other building and claimed that it's under the same company management. So two of us have to be separate from the main group. 2. The price was not good for the value the hotel offered. The room was really small compared to the pictures. And it has NO view at all, facing garbage side. 3. I don't think the room is clean enough. When I first entered the room, there are many bugs on the curtain so I had to ask the manager to take off the curtain.
The innkeeper Mr. Gurhan was extremely friendly. I didn't contact the hotel beforehand and arrive in Istanbul at midnight. By the time I reached the hotel, it was much later than 1 am (2 am maybe?) in the morning. To my surprise, Mr. Gurhan was at the door waiting for me! Brought in to my room and settled by check-in. As I had an early flight to catch (6 am), again, Mr. Gurhan was there to open the door for me.
Not that easy to find if you don't know where it is. Take your bearings facing Hagia Sophia, look left and you should see a park of sorts (with an old bricked structure). Behind the park is a stretch of bars / cafes. Kervan Hotel is just beside Omar Restaurant Cafe.
Very fantastic and good location, short wolking distance(2-3 munite) to all historical places. The hotel is nice, small and clean, designd in oriental stile.
location and design and cleanliness of the rooms
Very friendly staff and fantastic position!
Tiny room and very thin wall so you can to hear everything that about talk in next room. Very limited and poor breakfast in cafe to next door from hotel with not comfortable time (9:30 - 11:00)
